We are researching the optimal approach to develop a centralized database
repository that will form the basis for multimedia educational applications.
Using existing multimedia resources from the College of Medicine Hippocrates
Project, we will construct an object-centric multimedia database that can be
used as a model to bridge disparate educational environments. Through this
project, we hope to learn how to reduce development time, to increase search
relevancy, and to construct an optimal architecture that will enhance sharing,
repurposing, and delivery of complex educational multimedia. Some
of this research has been funded by the Bioengineering Center / Whitaker
