Database management is one
of the main areas of research of the School of Computer Science at The
University of Oklahoma (OU). The objective of the database research
team at OU (OUDB) is to help solve the many issues and challenges facing
the database research community, especially with respect to emerging
technology. Currently, many projects are being conducted in the following
areas: data mining, data warehouses, mobile databases, multimedia databases,
object-oriented databases, real-time databases, web-enabled databases
and database migration. These projects have been funded by federal and
state agencies as well as private industries such as the National Science
Foundation, the U.S. Department of Education, NASA, Oklahoma State Department
of Environmental Quality, Oklahoma State Department of Health, Oklahoma
Juvenile Offices, Informix, Northrop Grumman, and Objectivity DB, Inc.
