PRINTER

The default printer for the network is named hp8el158. It is located in the back half of the general purpose lab (el158). The printer supplies (paper, toner) and support is maintained by the lab techs and can be reached at 325-4409 for printer problems. If you are having trouble printing your document then please feel free to email csnhelp@cs.ou.edu for help in resolving those type of problems.

MISCELLANEOUS

The data in you CSN home directory is backed up nightly. If you need a file restored please contact csnhelp@cs.ou.edu as soon as possible. The quicker you request a file to be restored, the better your chances are that it can be restored.

The ssh program is available for download from the CS website at:

http://www.cs.ou.edu/download/sshwin.exe

The classroom accounts are typically inactivated within two weeks after the end of each semester. The account filesystems are also purged before the beginning of each semester. To have a copy of your programs and data, please be sure to make an archive of your home and transfer it to a different location. Use the tar and gzip commands to create the archive and then sftp/scp/ftp to move the archive to an offsite location.
