Welcome to Artificial Intelligence. Prof. Hougen, 12 January 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I will need to move my office hour for this coming Friday (Jan. 30) from 12:00-1:00 to 2:00-3:00. Prof. Hougen, 27 January 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Homework 2 has been added to the class web pages. Prof. Hougen, 27 January 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Project 1 has been added to the class web pages, as announced today in class. Also, as announced, the due date has been pushed back to Feb. 17. Note that Feb. 17 is also the day of our first exam and I do not expect that date to change, as we are progressing through the material at the rate scheduled. I therefore strongly recommend that all students complete their programming projects well before the due date, if possible. This will give you sufficient time to study for the exam, after you have completed the project. Note that the instructions for electronic submission of the assignment have not been posted yet, pending creation of the class account to which you will send your electronic submissions. Prof. Hougen, 3 February 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- As announced in class today, your accounts on the Computer Science Network (CSN) have been set up. You should log in and change your password as soon as possible. Students who have not changed their passwords in two days will have their accounts frozen. Some instructions for accessing these machines have been added to the class web pages. Prof. Hougen, 5 February 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- As announced in class today, we will stick to the schedule given on the class web pages, including having our FIRST EXAM NEXT WEEK (Tuesday, Feb. 17), despite my illness this week. Also note that I have added a discussion board for this course under BlackBoard. Prof. Hougen, 12 February 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The solution to homework 1 has been added to the class web pages. Prof. Hougen, 15 February 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The solution to homework 2 has been added to the class web pages. Prof. Hougen, 16 February 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- DON'T FORGET, YOUR FIRST EXAM OF THE SEMESTER IS TODAY! Prof. Hougen, 17 February 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have added the instructions for electronic submission of programming projects to the class web pages. Prof. Hougen, 17 February 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- As noted in class today, you should not touch (delete, modify, etc.) the files on the CSN machines that you submitted electronically for project 1 at least until they have been graded and the hard copies returned to you. This is in case there was an error in the electronic submission process - if so, you're files with the last modification time prior to the due date of the assignment will be a record of your having completed the project on time. Prof. Hougen, 17 February 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- All students interested in AI outside the classroom and/or in who may be joining our faculty here at OU are invited to attend a talk TOMORROW: Guilherme DeSouza, "A Vision-Based Architecture for Smart Robotics" Wednesday, February 18, 10:30-11:30, student Q & A period follows. CEC 100. See for details. Prof. Hougen, 17 February 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- As announced in class today, there will be a slight change in schedule to accommodate the pace with which we have covered the material on inference in FOPC. Homework 3 and project 2 have been combined into a single assignment which will be due on March 25. Exam 2 will be moved back to April 1. The combined homework 3 and project 2 assignment has been added to the class web pages as project 2. Prof. Hougen, 2 March 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- My additional office hour for today (to replace the missed hour on the Friday before Spring Break) will be 3:00 - 4:00. Prof. Hougen, 22 March 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTICE: As determined by a vote of the class today, the due date for homework 3/project 2 has been moved to 12:00 noon, Monday, March 29. The date for exam 2 has not changed due to this deadline change. The date for exam 2 is still 1 April 2004. Prof. Hougen, 23 March 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- As announced in class, I will not be available for my regular office hours on Thursday and Friday this week. Instead, I will have one office hour today (Monday) from 1:00 to 2:00 and another on Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:00. Prof. Hougen, 29 March 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I will be giving a talk on robotics and machine learning tomorrow (Tuesday) for the CS Graduate Student Association. The talk will be 3:00 to 4:00 in the AME Conference Room (Felgar Hall 214/216).
