Welcome to cs3113. If you got this far, you are in good shape. Prof. Hougen, 24 August 2003 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Message from Jim Summers: UNIX USER SEMINAR ----------------- The Introduction to UNIX user seminar will be held September 8th and 11th from 3:00 to 4:00 in the Traditions room (230). There may also be a session held in conjuction with an ACM meeting. It will cover the very basics of logging in via ssh, file manipulation, and then a simple gcc compile. I will also do another seminar in the second half of the semester that will be more advanced. I will email when that is scheduled. Prof. Hougen, 3 November 2003 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To help you with your project 3, our system administrator (Jim Summers) has added all of your class accounts to the groups "foo" and "bar." These are in addition to the group "course," of which your accounts were already members. Prof. Hougen, 11 November 2003 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ My office hours for Monday, 17 November 2003, need to be moved. I will hold them from 2:00 to 3:00 pm on that date, rather than the normal 11:00 to 12:00. Prof. Hougen, 14 November 2003 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Project 4 has been added to the class web pages. Prof. Hougen, 21 November 2003 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have all of the paper copies of project 3 to hand back and I have the scores from both projects 3 and 4. You can come during my office hours today (11:00 - 12:00) or Wednesday (2:00 - 3:00). Prof. Hougen, 15 December 2003 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I now have all of the paper copies for both projects 3 and 4 for you to pick up today or on Wednesday. Note that some groups have problems with their projects such as no electronic copy submitted or differences between the hard copy and the electronic copy. I recommend you pick up your projects as soon as possible to check for such problems and to be sure you are satisfied with your grading. I will hand back the remaining projects at the exam on Thursday morning. However, you may not have sufficient time to review your scores and discuss them with myself or the TA between then and when grades need to be reported. Prof. Hougen, 15 December 2003 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ REMINDER: The final exam is on Thursday, Dec. 18, from 8:00 to 10:00 am.
