Joakim received his Bachelor's degree in
Psychology from The University of Oklahoma in 1997
and his Masters in Computer Science in May, 2000. While at OU,
he was a research assistant in the Human-Technology
Interaction Center. His work involved developing an air-traffic
control interface prototype called FOPA.
Joakim's work in the database field began in Spring
1999 with a web-deployed multidatabase prototype written in Java. PIMAQS (Platform Intependent Multidatabase Administration and Query
System) incorporates Java technologies such as JDBC and
Swing.
After graduating, Joakim joined Ericsson
USA in Richardson, Texas as a software engineer in the Voice-over-ATM
group. There, he helping to create the Next Generation Network
using Erlang/OTP, a functional programming
language especially used for distributed, fault-tolerant, soft real-time
applications.
